Readers’ Choice Best Dining Room Winner

Readers of chdmag.com declared Antonio Martins’ serene, city-sized dining room their favorite.

As an interior designer, Antonio Martins is well-aware of the trend towards large open spaces that incorporate living room, dining room and kitchen all in one. But when he moved into his 1896 San Francisco Victorian, complete with a formal dining room measuring a mere 14 feet square, the last thing he wanted to do was knock down any walls. “I love to do the proper dining room thing,” says Martins, who has hosted seated dinner parties for as many as 16.
