Poster Child

After seeing wildfires burn through Southern California in the fall of 2007, Josh Higgins, a graphic designer and San Diego native, enlisted graphic artists he admires to help.

Higgins, who was a contributing artist to the post-Katrina Hurricane Poster Project, started the So-Cal Fire Poster Project to raise money for victims in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Diego counties. Proceeds from the poster sales are donated to the Salvation Army California Wildfire Relief Fund. This April, Higgins plans to hold a reception showcasing all 52 posters, including the works shown here (clockwise from top left): Brighter Days Ahead, Greg Bennett ($35); Hope is Fireproof, Ryan Clark ($35); Raining Love, Jason Gomez ($35); Home Tweet Home, Hatch Design ($75); Hope, Ryan Russell ($35); and Los Fuegos, Steve Baretto ($35). They’re available at reliefposters.com.
